The start of a brand new school year is now less than a month away and the School Lunch Association is beginning its preparations to provide nutritious meals to children across the province. Executive director John Finn says August is a very busy time for their management team. He says they have over 100 people who work in the schools throughout the year. They are currently in the process of recalling staff and filling these positions....

The “sturgeon moon” is expected to peak on Thursday night, but will still be visible over the weekend. There are no weather warnings in Ontario, and CTV News’ Michelle Jobin says conditions should be perfect for viewing the lunar event. A Long Island man is facing assault and weapons charges for allegedly attacking three people with a machete at a sporting goods store. Suffolk County police said Saturday that the attack happened the previous afternoon at a Dick’s Sporting Goods store in Patchogue, about 50 kilometers east of New York. Treyvius Tunstall allegedly asked to buy rifles but left after being asked to provide identification. According to police, he then slashed a store manager with a knife and attacked two other people as he fled....
