Brian Nadler, 35, was charged in 2021 in connection with the March 25 death of 89-year-old Albert Poindinger, of Pointe-Claire, Que. Nadler was working at the Hawkesbury and District General Hospital at the time. Police said they were investigating several suspicious deaths at the hospital, but never disclosed how many and indicated the investigation would be lengthy. Nadler’s medical license was suspended shortly after his indictment. He was released on bail in July 2021 with various conditions, including a ban on practicing medicine. His attorney said at his initial arraignment that his client maintains his innocence. In a news release, the OPP said Nadler was arrested and charged Wednesday with three additional counts of first-degree murder. Police say the charges stem from the death of Claire Briere, 80, of Rigaud, Que. Lorraine Lalande, 79, of Hawkesbury, Ont.; and Judith Lungulescu, 93, of East Hawkesbury Township, Ont. Online obituaries show that both Lorraine Lalande and Judith Lungulescu died at Hawkesbury General Hospital on March 25, 2021. Lalande was the mother of four children and had “many grandchildren,” according to the obit on the Berthiaume Funeral Home website. Lungulescu lived in Hudson, Co, but moved to Hawkesbury after her husband died to be closer to her grandchildren. She is survived by a daughter and two grandchildren. Police say the investigation remains ongoing. With files from CTV News Ottawa’s Josh Pringle
