The FBI interviewed Pat Cipollone – Donald Trump’s former White House adviser – and his deputy about the documents the FBI seized in last week’s Mar-a-Lago raid. Reuters cited a source who said the former White House adviser was interviewed, but it remains unclear exactly when that happened. His deputy Patrick Philbin, however, was interviewed in the spring, as first reported by the New York Times. The news comes after the Justice Department returned Mr. Trump’s passports that agents took during last week’s search of Mar-a-Lago. According to an email from the department shared by a Trump spokesman, the bureau’s “filter agents” seized three passports in Mr. Trump’s name. two were expired and one was his active diplomatic passport. On another front, a date has been set for a Florida federal court to hear arguments on whether or not to unseal the affidavit that justified the search. The hearing will take place this Thursday at 13.00. The Justice Department rejected requests to release the document, warning it could “chill” future efforts to secure cooperation from witnesses.
