RCMP said officers were called just before 6pm on Saturday, August 13, to reports of a man drowning in the lake near Entrance Bay.

Witnesses told officers the man had gone into the water with his friends when he went into deep water and drowned. Cultus Lake and Chilliwack Fire and Rescue teams were called to search for the man. Tragically, the man was unable to swim and sank into deep water where he drowned, Sgt. Krista Vrolyk, Chilliwack RCMP media spokesperson, said in a statement.
