On launch day, Samsung.com offered the Galaxy Z Flip 4 with “enhanced trade-in credits” of up to $900, leaving the remaining cost of the phone at just $99. It was a great deal, but what made it even better was that the Galaxy Z Flip 3 was eligible for the full $900 trade-in credit. Or, at least it was. As of this afternoon, we’ve noticed that Samsung.com is now showing two options for trading in the Galaxy Z Flip 3, one for 128GB and another for 256GB. On launch day, there was only one option for the Galaxy Z Flip 3 in the trade-in menu, earning the full $900 credit. Now, the 128GB model is only $700 off, while the 256GB model is $900 off the cost of a Flip 4. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 costs just $100 more to go from the 128GB model to 256 GB model. Update 8/16: As of this afternoon, Samsung has dropped the trade-in values of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 again, now offering $800 for the 256GB variant of the device and only offering $900 for the Bespoke Edition. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy S22 Ultra are the only devices that qualify for the full $900 credit. The trade-in value for the Galaxy S22+ also appears to have dropped by $25. Samsung has again reduced trading in values Z Flip3 128GB, $700Z Flip3 256GB, $800Z Flip3 Bespoke, $900 It was originally $900 across the board. Yesterday it dropped to $900 for 256GB and $700 for 128GB. pic.twitter.com/yl9rU4zBCA — Max Weinbach (@MaxWinebach) August 17, 2022 This difference, as mentioned, was not present on launch day and appears to have appeared in the last 24 hours or so. Samsung was not immediately available for comment on the change. While the Galaxy Z Flip 3 future trade-in credits appear to have been reduced, the change doesn’t appear to be retroactive. At least one user has confirmed that their order is still showing the full $900 credit on a 128GB trade-in. Samsung is still offering other perks with Flip 4 pre-orders, including up to $200 in instant credit, a free case, doubled storage, and more. The Galaxy Z Flip 4 launches on August 26.
