Investigators searching for Truckee teenager Kiely Rodni have released a new image of the Honda vehicle, which has also been missing since it disappeared from a party at Prosser Family Campground in the early hours of August 6. With the case now entering its 11th day, Nevada County Sheriff’s Office Chief Sam Brown said the investigation will be scaled back and move into a “more limited” phase starting next week. Police have released images of two sweatshirts linked to Kiely – the first one she was wearing and the other she was seen on video wearing at the camping party. The 16-year-old was last seen at the party – which was attended by around 200 to 300 teenagers and young adults – at around 12.30am. on August 6. Her cellphone last pinged by Prosser Lake at that time and has been out of service since. Kiely’s mother, Lindsey Rodni-Nieman, is appealing for information from those present, telling the Independent: “We are desperate for other teenagers to come forward and share the final pieces of the story that no one seems to be able to piece together.”

Kiely Rodni was wearing a sweatshirt with the words “strange future” on it the night she disappeared without a trace at a camp party, police said. The Placer County Sheriff’s Office revealed Sunday that the 16-year-old was seen on video the evening of Aug. 5 at the Prosser Family Campground in Truckee, California. In the video, he wears the white hoodie covered with the phrase “strange future” in pink letters. It is not clear whether Kiely was wearing or in possession of the sweatshirt when she was last seen at around 12.30am the following day. However, this is the second sweatshirt the public has been alerted to in relation to the missing teenager, after investigators previously revealed she had borrowed a hoodie with Lana Del Ray’s lyrics ‘you don’t want to be forgotten, you just want to disappear’ from someone at the party. Last ping points on mobile Kiely Rodni near the lake at night disappeared
The last ping from Kiely Rodni’s cellphone placed the missing teenager at the edge of a lake at the campsite where she was last seen a week ago. Capt. Sam Brown of the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office revealed at a news conference Sunday that the last known location from Kiely’s cell phone was around 12:30 a.m. near Prosser Lake – the man-made reservoir surrounding the Prosser Family Campground. He said it was difficult to find a “precise point” for the cell phone’s location data and that it was also possible the cell phone continued to ping after that time. “Just because it was last pinged there, that doesn’t mean that’s where the phone stopped ringing,” he said. “The ping for the data points was close to the water. Officials will not hold a news conference or community meeting Tuesday — in another sign that investigators appear to be closing the case and have no new information on Kiely Rodni’s whereabouts 11 days after she disappeared. “Today is the eleventh day of the investigation into 16-year-old Kiely Rodni. There are currently no air and sea teams
Investigators appear to have already begun narrowing their search for missing teenager Kiely Rodni, with no air resources or sea/dive teams now on the case. In all, 102 law enforcement personnel were assigned to the case Tuesday — less than half of the 207 who were working the case just a day earlier. On Monday, two air resources were also working on the case, while over the weekend two dive teams were also combing nearby waterways. The apparent withdrawal of the dive teams comes despite the last ping of Kiely’s mobile around 12.30am. near Prosser Lake – the man-made reservoir that revolves around the Prosser Family Campground. GoFundMe to raise reward tops $55,000
A GoFundMe launched to increase the reward for information leading to Kiely Rodni has now surpassed $55,000. Donations reached $55,070 as of Tuesday morning local time.
