Officers were on a traffic stop near the 5700 block of Raleigh LaGrange Road when they heard multiple gunshots and observed a white SUV drive north on Sycamore View Road around midnight, according to a release. The police located the crime scene but no victims. Officers began checking apartments north of Raleigh LaGrange in Sycamore View and spotted a white Infiniti QX50 inside the Tanglewood apartment complex. The car was unoccupied and reported stolen out of Collierville. Less than an hour later, officers responded at approximately 12:45 a.m. in the 3900 block of New Covington Pike at Methodist North Hospital. Methodist initially provided the following statement to FOX13. Early this morning there was a shooting near Methodist North Hospital. No hospital employees were injured. Six patients were treated and transported to Regional One and Le Bonheur hospitals. We appreciate the quick action of our staff to get the patients away from the ED waiting area so that our security team and the Memphis Police Department could respond quickly. We are working with local law enforcement as they continue to investigate. The hospital is not on lockdown at this time. According to MPD, two of the victims were taken to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, while one remains in non-critical condition and one has been released. Four victims were taken to District One, police said. Three of the four are still in hospital and the other has been released. During this investigation, Gun Crimes Unit investigators determined that Reginald Felix (19), a 17-year-old and a 16-year-old were in the stolen Infiniti SUV when they were shot in the 5700 block of Raleigh LaGrange. According to police, a 14-year-old and a 25-year-old carried the three injured people into the stolen Infiniti SUV from the Tanglewood Apartments on Methodist North. On their way to the hospital, they were shot by unknown suspects in a dark-colored vehicle, according to a statement. The five left the disabled car and ran to the hospital. Around 4 p.m., Methodist sent FOX13 an updated statement. Early this morning, six injured youths were treated at Methodist North Hospital and transported to Regional One and Le Bonheur after a shooting in the Raleigh community of Memphis. This incident did not occur on or near our hospital campus. Our medical staff worked quickly to stabilize the injured and provide them with the care they needed. We appreciate the quick action of our staff to guide patients away from the ED waiting area so that our security team and the Memphis Police Department could respond quickly. Felix was released from the hospital and charged with theft of property between $10,000 and $60,000. A 17-year-old boy remains hospitalized at Regional One, is in custody and will be charged with theft of property between $10,000 and $60,000, police said. A 16-year-old boy was released from Le Bonheur and taken to Juvenile Court on charges of theft of property between $10,000 and $60,000. Police said a 14-year-old boy remains unresponsive at Le Bonheur. Two 25-year-old men remain in critical but stable condition in District One.
