Investigators looking for Kiely Rodni have revealed her cellphone was last dropped near a huge lake that runs around the camp where more than 200 teenagers and young adults descended for a party 10 days ago. Kiely was last seen between 12:30 and 1 a.m. on Aug. 6 near the Prosser Family Campground in Truckee. Her car – a silver 2013 Honda CRV – is also missing. Nevada County Sheriff’s Office Chief Sam Brown said the last known cellphone location data placed the teenager next to Prosser Lake around 12:30 a.m. Her phone went out of service after that time. Divers have searched the lake but have so far found no sign of the missing teenager. Investigators are also combing the camp and surrounding areas, and more than 1,100 tips have poured in from the public. A tip led to a “possible burial site” over the weekend but, after an extensive search, crews dug up only one dead dog. Kiely’s mother, Lindsey Rodni-Nieman, is appealing for input from those present, telling the Independent: “We are desperate for any other teenager to come forward and share the final pieces of the story that no one seems to be able to piece together.”

Kiely’s grandfather Rodni says he believes her car could hold clues
Kiely’s grandfather Rodni said he believes her missing car could hold clues to what happened to his granddaughter. The 16-year-old’s silver 2013 Honda CRV has also not been seen since the early hours of August 6, when she disappeared without a trace at the camping party. David Robertson said Fox40 that he believes finding the car could help lead them to Kiely as he urged people to look out for it. “Keep looking for the car, please,” he said. Kiely Rodni’s mother says ‘nothing out of the ordinary’ on the day she disappeared
Kiely Rodni’s mother, Lindsey Rodni-Nieman, said there was “nothing unusual” about Kiely the day she disappeared without a trace. Ms Rodni-Nieman told The Independent last week that she last saw Kiely on Friday morning and then spoke to her by text that evening – not long before her last known sighting. It was like any normal day. Kiely had come down to their house that morning and mother and daughter talked about their plans for the day. “It was ‘morning, hello, I love you’ and we were talking about plans for the day – just a little check-in as usual,” Ms Rodni-Nieman said. “She was going to see some friends and maybe go to the gym… We also talked about her plans to go camping the next night. And then we said ‘have a great day and I love you’. He said: “She didn’t look out of the ordinary. “Everything looked the same, she had a big smile on her face and was ready to greet the day. She was having a good day and week and was excited to go camping the next night. We had a great exchange.” Mother and daughter stayed in touch throughout the day and last spoke at around 11.30pm that night when Kiely texted to say she was about to start the 25-30 minute drive home from the party. “He said he would leave at 12.15 and start walking home,” Ms Rodni-Nieman said. That was the last she heard from her daughter. Rachel Sharp 16 August 2022 05:00 1660618812

Kiely’s mother reveals that she almost didn’t go to camp parties
Kiely’s mother has revealed her daughter almost didn’t go to the camping party the night she disappeared as she made a terrifying appeal to local teenagers to help “piece together” what happened. Lindsey Rodni-Nieman spoke to The Independent on Thursday as the search for her missing 16-year-old daughter entered its fifth day and investigators are no closer to getting answers about her whereabouts. He said Kiely had planned to go to a car show in Reno with her mother Friday night, but texted her during the day to say she was going to a party at the Prosser Family Campground. Mrs Rodni-Nieman said she wished Kiely had never gone to the party that night and had gone to the car show with her that night. But he said that thought is “not helpful.” The Independent’s Rachel Sharp has the full story:

The information about the “potential burial site” turns out to be false alarms
A lead about a “possible burial site” at the Prosser Family Campground turned out to be a false alarm over the weekend as search teams discovered the remains of a dead dog. Search and rescue teams found the site and it was secured by the FBI and local sheriff’s offices while a day-long dig was underway. But the lead turned out to be a dead end after the excavation turned up only the dead dog. Kiely’s family had been notified of the possible burial site. Volunteers and family members updated the flyers to reflect the new amount on Sunday – nine days since she was last seen. Kiely’s father, Daniel Rodni, said he was “outraged” by the support. “This is an amazing effort, an incredible effort. I’m amazed and I want to thank everyone,” he told Fox40. “We want to thank you, whoever you are. Thank you all! Whatever you do, we appreciate it. Police find new video of Kiely Rodni wearing ‘weird future’ sweatshirt the night she disappeared
Kiely Rodni was wearing a sweatshirt with the words ‘strange future’ on it the night she disappeared without a trace at a camp party, police said. The Placer County Sheriff’s Office revealed Sunday that the 16-year-old was seen on video the evening of Aug. 5 at the Prosser Family Campground in Truckee, California. In the video, he wears the white hoodie covered with the phrase “strange future” in pink letters. It is not clear whether Kiely was wearing or in possession of the sweatshirt when she was last seen at around 12.30am the following day. However, this is the second sweatshirt the public has been alerted to in relation to the missing teenager, after investigators previously revealed she had borrowed a hoodie with Lana Del Ray’s lyrics ‘you don’t want to be forgotten, you just want to disappear’ from someone at the party. Last ping points on mobile Kiely Rodni near the lake at night disappeared
The last ping from Kiely Rodni’s cellphone placed the missing teenager at the edge of a lake at the campsite where she was last seen a week ago. Capt. Sam Brown of the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office revealed at a news conference Sunday that the last known location from Kiely’s cell phone was around 12:30 a.m. near Prosser Lake – the man-made reservoir surrounding the Prosser Family Campground. He said it was difficult to find a “precise point” for the cell phone’s location data and that it was also possible the cell phone continued to ping after that time. “Just because it was last pinged there, that doesn’t mean that’s where the phone stopped ringing,” he said. “The ping for the data points was close to the water. It’s hard to say an exact point.” Divers have been searching the lake for any sign of the missing 16-year-old but have so far found nothing. The Independent’s Rachel…
