Leckie Rd will be closed on both sides of Highway 97 until the end of August. Leckie Rd. will be closed to vehicular access on both sides of Highway 97 through the end of the month during construction to accommodate signalization and ongoing intersection improvement projects in the area. During the work, there will also be lane closures on Highway 97 at Leckie Rd. from 9 pm to 7 am The project is a partnership between the City of Kelowna and the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure and Costco Development. Some of the improvements include a double left turn lake from Highway 97 southbound to Leckie Rd. to add southbound capacity and a smart right turn lane to increase safety for northbound right turns from Leckie Rd. on the highway across from the bike path extension. The trail extends from Leckie Rd. on Highway 97, which connects it to the Greenway. Drivers, cyclists and pedestrians are asked to use caution and follow all posted signage. There will be increased heavy truck traffic and equipment operating near the intersection.
