“4moms has received two reports of entanglement incidents involving infants caught in the harness under the MamaRoo crib after being pulled under the seat, including a 10-month-old infant who died of suffocation and a 10-month-old infant who suffered neck bruising before being rescued by a caregiver,” a CPSC statement from all 4 mothers said. “There have been no reported incidents involving RockaRoo.” The statement from 4moms and the CPSC recommends that those with the products “immediately stop using the recalled cribs and bassinets, place them in an area where crawling infants cannot access them, and contact 4moms immediately to sign up for a free strap that will prevent the straps from stretching under the crib when not in use. Baby cribs and rockers have been involved in several recent recalls. Kids II Rocking Sleepers were linked to five infant deaths and Fisher-Price Rock ‘n Play cribs were linked to more than 30 infant deaths over 10 years. TJX agreed to pay a $13 million fine earlier this month for selling those products at TJ Maxx, Marshalls and Home Goods stores from March 2014 to October 2019 after they were pulled from the market.
