“No one deserves this,” said the grieving son of Sydney double shooting victim Lametta Fadlallah, who was brazenly murdered by a killer at the weekend. Ms Fadlallah, 48, was murdered along with her hairdresser outside her home in Panania, in Sydney’s south-west, on Saturday afternoon while in the back of a Toyota 4WD. Investigators suspect she was targeted because of her links to organized crime as the one-time lover of two well-known underworld figures – ex-gangster Shadi Derbas and 200kg rival Helal Safi. Ms Fadlallah’s grown son Abraham Derbas told Daily Mail Australia on Monday night that his mother should be remembered as a “very nice lady”, while his grandmother, ZamZam Derbas, described what happened as an “unprecedented” tragedy”. “Nothing ever happened before, nothing,” he said. On the night of her horrific death, she was on her way to her new partner’s popular Lebanese restaurant Massaya, in South Strathfield, to attend an engagement party. Amy Hazouri, 39, had just stopped by Ms Fadlallah’s home to dry her client’s hair for the special party and had also been invited to panel at the shindig. The hairdresser died of a hail of gunshots while sitting next to Mrs. Fadlallah, just as they were about to leave. Police believe Ms Hazouri was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. Lametta Fadlallah (above) was killed in a killing spree on Saturday that saw her and her hairdresser Amy Hazouri shot outside her south-west Sydney home The grandmother, ZamZam Derbas (pictured left with Mrs Fadlallah’s son Abraham Derbas) described her death as an unprecedented “tragedy”. Her former brother-in-law, Mounir Sajad, told the Sydney Morning Herald that he had pleaded with Ms Hazuri not to be associated with Ms Fadlala, given her reputation as an underworld figure. But Ms. Hazouri did not feel that she was in any danger. Her sister Manal Raunegger wrote a heartbreaking online post revealing that Ms Hazouri was the sole breadwinner for her family in Lebanon, which is currently struggling with an economic crisis causing shortages of food, fuel and medicine. “We need urgent funds to carry out the funerals and take her body to Lebanon to rest. Our mother is unwell and cannot travel to Australia to see her daughter,” he said. “We are asking family, friends and the community to donate what they can and share this page as we are in urgent need of funds during this time as we cannot afford this service. Every dollar and support is appreciated. May her soul rest in peace.’ Hairdresser Amy Hazouri (above) is believed to be ‘collateral damage’ in the killing of Lametta Fadlallah on Saturday On the night of her horrific death, Mrs Fadlallah was on her way to her new partner’s popular Lebanese restaurant Massaya, in South Strathfield (pictured), to attend an engagement party. Ms Derbas still lives on the street where a member of Ms Fadlallah’s ex-husband Shadi’s gang killed innocent Korean schoolboy Edward Lee in a year of bloody violence that swept south-west Sydney. The 1998 death of 14-year-old Lee, who was stabbed while attending a birthday party a few doors down from Telopea Street gang member Mustapha Dib, sparked a police crackdown that fueled even more gang violence. That same year, members of the Telopea Street gang were involved in their own double shooting when Shadi Derbas and other gang members were present while notorious gangster Michael Kanaan shot two men outside the Five Dock Hotel. Shadi Derbas was convicted of obstructing investigations into the Five Dock murders of Adam Wright and Michael Hurle. Members of the Telopea Street gang later fired at the Lakemba Police Station and were allegedly involved in a drive-by shooting. The gang folded in 2000, in the wake of the conviction of Shadi Derbas. Shadi Derbas is understood to have long since turned his back on a life of crime and has not been in a relationship with Ms Fadlallah for several years. Ms Fadlallah’s mother (left) said her daughter’s name has been “beaten” since her death Ms Fadlallah and Ms Hazouri were shot while inside a Toyota 4WD on Saturday on their way to Ms Fadlallah’s engagement party (pictured, Ms Fadlallah’s home and the scene of the shooting) The driver of the car, a 20-year-old man, drove the car around the corner while the vehicle was still being shot at (pictured, bloodstains on the road two days after the murder) Police continued to investigate the scene on Monday (pictured) 48 hours after the double murder Ms Fadlallah’s devastated mother also spoke to Daily Mail Australia on Monday, saying her daughter’s reputation had been “hit” when she deserved to be remembered well. Her sister-in-law said the family received many calls and thanked people for their support and kind words. The family asked that she be left alone to grieve in peace. Mrs Fadlallah rented the semi-detached house where she was murdered outside for five years with her 16-year-old son. Suellen, who owns the property, said Ms Fadlallah was a reliable tenant who kept the property clean and paid rent on time. He said the mother recently paid a down payment to install a security system that would see three cameras trained on the street where she was later shot. Ms Fadlallah’s family (pictured left to right, her sister, sister-in-law and mother) said she deserved to be remembered well Ms Fadlallah (above) was previously married to two Sydney kingpins and could have been killed because she ‘knew too much’ about secret underworld dealings Ms Fadlallah was previously married to 200kg rebel Helal Safi (pictured in 2020 who was captured). He died of a heart attack in 2021 “The furniture in there was expensive and they put cameras on her,” Suellen told Daily Mail Australia. “It was clean and tidy, it had a cleaner in it.” Suellen added that she thought she heard a loud noise at the time of the murder, but didn’t realize at first that there had been a shooting down the street. “I just heard a big bang, like a big bang, not single shots, and I looked out into the street and I couldn’t see anybody,” he said. “Amour Park the football ground is behind us and I thought it was something from there, but louder. After half an hour the police came and I heard sirens.’ Police have since revealed that a 20-year-old man was driving the Toyota 4WD in which the two women were shot and managed to drive away while the vehicle was still being shot at. A 16-year-old girl was also in the front car and miraculously survived. Once the driver safely reached the corner, he called emergency services for help to rescue the two shot women in the back seat. Amy Hazouri, 39, had just stopped by Mrs Fadlallah’s house to dry her hair for the special party and had also been invited to panel at the shindig. Moments later he died of a hail of gunfire The devastated father of the ‘innocent’ hairdresser said his daughter was an ‘angel’ and would like to die. On Monday night, Ms Hazouri’s devastated father Khaled broke down in tears as he described his beautiful daughter. “Angel, angel,” he told Nine News. “Friendly to every people.” In broken English, Mr Hazouri said his daughter always had a smile and lent a hand where needed. As the devastated father wept, a translator revealed he wished he had died instead of Amy. Ms Hazouri (above) is described by her loved ones as a “beautiful” woman and “angel” who was the sole provider for her family in Lebanon An underworld source who knew Ms Fadlala told the Daily Telegraph she could have been killed because she “knew too much”. “He had come to life. He carried the guns for the boys, gave an alibi when needed and until he was killed mixing with gangsters,” they said. “She always thought she was smart, but this is the most dangerous Sydney has ever been. Killing women so openly is next level.’ Over the past two years the streets of Sydney have been erupting with highly planned shootings. The two killed are now the 15th and 16th victims of the bloody gang war.
