In an interview with Insider, the 41-year-old actress revealed that she was paid less than her Jurassic World co-star despite his fight for equal pay. “I was paid a lot less than the reports said, so much less,” Howard said. “When I started negotiating for [Jurassic World], it was 2014 and it was a different world, and I was at a huge disadvantage. And, unfortunately, you have to sign up for three films and that’s how your deals are done.” Howard and Pratt revived the Jurassic Park franchise in 2014 with Jurassic World. However, even in 2018, Variety revealed that Howard was paid $2 million less than her co-star – earning $8 million for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom as opposed to Pratt’s $10 million check. Now, that number is likely to have been much higher. Although Howard and Pratt continued the franchise with the recent Jurassic World Dominion, it seems as though he continued to get the short end of the stick. Even though Pratt tried to help her negotiate better pay. “What I will say is that Chris and I have discussed it, and whenever there was an opportunity to move the needle on things that hadn’t already been negotiated, like a game or a ride, he would literally say, ‘Guys, don’t even have to. to do anything. I will do all the negotiating. We’ll get paid the same and you don’t have to think about that, Bryce.” Jurassic World Dominion Gallery “I love him so much that he does this,” Howard added. “Really, because I’ve been paid more for stuff like that than I ever was for the movie.” It is certainly a very honorable thing to do. But Howard shouldn’t really be fighting for equal pay in the first place. Unfortunately, Hollywood continues to struggle with an inherent pay gap between male and female actors. Jurassic World Dominion also saw the return of Jurassic Park legends Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum and Sam Neill. But many criticized the film for squandering that reunion after poor reviews.
