The Red Arrows wowed the crowds at the Blackpool Airshow with stunning aerial acrobatics this afternoon. Thousands of people lined Blackpool’s seafront and piers to watch incredible displays, performances and fly-pasts from a range of military and civilian aircraft, including the world-famous aerobatics team, Lancaster bombers, Spitfires and Chinook helicopters. It was a scorching day with temperatures reaching 29C, with many in the crowd shielding themselves from the sun with umbrellas and pitching tents in an attempt to get some shade from the scorching sun. The crowds cheered on the Red Arrows as they gave spectators a sensational show for the final performance of the day. The team flew over Blackpool Tower and played over the iconic beach, with red, white and blue smoke. The Red Arrows will once again return to Blackpool for another show tomorrow (Sunday) for the second and final day of the airshow. We put together a photo gallery that captured all the best bits of the day! We have a special collection of Red Arrows images here.
