Kelowna RCMP are investigating a homicide outside a downtown nightclub. On August 12th at approximately 11:00 p.m., members of the Kelowna RCMP front line witnessed an altercation between several people outside a nightclub in the 200 block of Lawrence Avenue. A male victim was found on the ground with injuries and was admitted to KGH where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Another man leaves the scene on foot. At this time, no one has been charged or arrested, but investigators continue to search the area for evidence. Police believe the victim and suspect knew each other. “We have identified a number of people in the area who witnessed the fight. The researchers would like to speak with them. We encourage these witnesses to contact our investigators using the Tip Line at 250-470-6236,” said Beth McAndie, Bureau of Investigations Officer. The homicide investigation has been handed over to Kelowna’s Serious Crimes Unit and is being assisted by the Forensic Investigations Division, Assault and Robbery Unit, General Investigation Support Team and the BC Challenger Service.
