UPDATE: 7:50 p.m RCMP confirmed that at 6:50 p.m. police responded to a report of a man who fell into the lake at the downtown Kelowna marina and did not resurface. Members of the Kelowna Frontline, along with the Kelowna Fire Department are on scene searching for water. Kelowna RCMP are asking the public to avoid the area while the investigation is ongoing. PROTOTYPE: RCMP and Search and Rescue have swarmed the downtown Kelowna marina. According to several people at the scene, a person fell into the lake outside the gas bar on Bernard Avenue around 7:00 p.m. and did not resurface. A bystander says police were using a pole to touch the bottom of the lake, possibly looking for the missing person. By the time Castanet arrived on the scene, hundreds of spectators had surrounded the marina and police had cut off access to the dock. Several police cars were at the scene, along with an ambulance.
