Jason Alexander, 40, pleaded no contest to two misdemeanor charges in a California court, prosecutors in Ventura County announced Thursday. A Ventura County judge sentenced him to the 64 days he has already served in jail.
Prosecutors dropped charges of felony stalking and misdemeanor vandalism.
Spears married her longtime boyfriend Sam Asghari at her home in Thousand Oaks, California on June 9 in front of dozens of guests including Selena Gomez, Drew Barrymore, Paris Hilton and Madonna.
Alexander, Spears’ childhood friend who she was married to for less than three days in 2004, showed up at the house uninvited before the ceremony while live-streaming on Instagram.
He entered the home and reached Spears’ locked bedroom door while she was inside preparing for the wedding, according to testimony at a preliminary hearing.
Alexander refused to leave the property when told to, punched a security guard who tried to remove him and broke a door, prosecutors said.
After entering his plea, a judge issued a new protective order barring him from coming within 100 meters of Spears or the security guard.
Alexander’s attorney, Sandra Bisignani, did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment. He previously told the court there was no evidence he intended to harm Spears.
Spears’ attorney declined to comment.
