A yellow storm warning has been issued for Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole and the rest of Dorset. He will be in position between 6 A.M. and 23.59 on Monday 15 August. A Met Office spokesman said: “Although some places will avoid them, the storms are likely to develop more widely as we move into Monday. “Storms will likely already be underway for Northern Ireland and parts of Scotland early on Monday, before also developing across parts of England and Wales late in the morning and into the afternoon. Storms will begin to move out of the west later. “Very locally 20-30mm of rain is possible in one hour and up to around 50mm in three to six hours. Possible hail and frequent lightning”. There is a small chance that homes and businesses will be quickly flooded, with some buildings damaged by floodwaters, lightning, hail or strong winds Where there is flooding or lightning, there is a possibility of delays and some cancellations of train and bus services Spray and flash flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures There is a small chance that there will be power outages and other lost services in some homes and businesses
