Two main topics tonight. First, a day after AG Merrick Garland’s “Where’s the Beef”? press conference, ex President Trump’s Search Warrant has been unsealed. The president himself has said that he has never had a problem showing all the documents to anyone who wants to see them. As we noted last night, the search warrant and revised inventory list are of little use. The only thing that really matters is the application for the warrant, which will contain affidavits of probable cause for evidence of federal crimes. The only way we will see the light of day is if a real case is brought to court and the affidavits are shared by the prosecution with the accused. We’re a long way from that, but that’s where the real “beef” will be found. I see that one of the warrant leak stories from my friend Betsy Woodruff Swan of Politico says that federal law enforcement was investigating Mr. Trump for removing or destroying records, obstructing an investigation, and violating the Espionage Act. LARRY KUDLOW ON THE TRUMP MAR-A-LAGO RAID: WE NEED THE WARRANT APPLICATION President Donald Trump speaks in the East Room of the White House, early Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2020, in Washington. (AP Photo/Evan Vucci) (AP Photo/Evan Vucci) I find these accusations completely unbelievable, completely and utterly unbelievable, because the former president was fully cooperating with the FBI last spring. The idea of imminent danger of document destruction or concealment seems completely far-fetched, as John Solomon mentioned. Furthermore, if the FBI was so crazy about destroying or hiding documents, why did they wait three days from the time they got the warrant to raid Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach? Maybe they took in a couple of rounds of golf at the beautiful Mar-a-Lago course with one of their indoor springs. As for the documents marked “confidential”, or “secret”, or “top secret”, or “TS/SCI” – this is sensitive information: I can tell you from my own experience in the White House that most of it , indeed the vast majority of this stuff, is classified unnecessarily because you can get most of it from your local paper. As the late Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan wrote several decades ago in his book “Secrecy: The American Experience,” the federal government’s obsession with unclassified secrecy is insane. Now, if the secret codes for nuclear football were around, that would be a problem, but I kind of doubt it, don’t you? FBI RAID ON DONALD TRUMP’S MAR-A-LAGO ESTATE ‘MIGHT HAVE BEEN ILLEGAL,’ says spokesman. GREG STEUBE Former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe reacts to the unsealing of President Donald Trump’s Kudlow warrant. Frankly, I still see this outrageous DOJ-FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago as a January 6th fishing expedition to arm law enforcement for the simple political motive of keeping Mr. Trump off the ballot in 2024. Show me some real beef to the contrary and I’ll change my mind. Meanwhile, our second big topic tonight is the impending passage of the so-called “New Deflation Bill,” which neither reduces inflation or the short-term budget deficit nor provides stimulus for economic growth to fight the recession. This bill is another massive attack on the war on fossil fuels and a huge giveaway to special interest groups and wealthy individuals in the name of global warming. Meanwhile, middle-class families will face a significant increase in taxes with those earning less than $100,000 a year facing a 77% chance of higher taxes. There is a new state EPA slush fund bank. There are 87,000 IRS agents armed to the teeth hunting so-called underreported income from middle and lower income earners, Uber drivers, the gig economy, waitresses and small businesses that don’t own the company. Superannuation pensioners will face a new tax on their savings, as will small transfers. About $750 billion in new spending combined with nearly $300 billion in the CHIPS-plus corporate welfare account threatens higher, not lower, inflation. CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP Joth Ricci discusses the company’s growth trajectory as inflation has pushed coffee prices higher in “The Claman Countdown.” Drug price controls will make lifesaving drugs more, not less, expensive. It is a pathetic bill. It’s the wrong account at the wrong time for the wrong country. We tried hard to save America and kill the bill. We should also try hard to stop these crazy pranks on exes President Trump. This article was adapted from Larry Kudlow’s opening comment on “Kudlow” on August 12, 2022.
