Ford was fielding questions from reporters in Dundalk, Ont., about the provincewide health care shortage and the possibility of privatization when the bee flew into his mouth. “Holy Christ, I just swallowed a bee,” he said, coughing violently. Members of the public were heard expressing their concern for Ford. After taking a sip of water from a bottle, Ford addressed the situation, saying “This is going to play out over and over again.” But the discomfort experienced by the prime minister was visible. “Sorry guys. The little bugger got away in there,” he said. Someone in the audience asked if he was OK to continue, to which Ford replied, “I’m OK. It’s buzzing in there.” “Dude, he went right down the hatch,” he said with a laugh. Ouch! Premier Ford just swallowed a bee while taking Qs from the inside. “I’m fine. It’s buzzing in there. Man, he just came down the hatch.”Ford calls it a “classic” and that he’ll “scream” when he sees it on TV later. pic.twitter.com/q5nq3qqZNK —@fitz_meagan “That’s good… I can’t remember what we were talking about. I’m going to be rushed to the hospital to get this bee out of here.” Ford continued the briefing for several minutes. It was not immediately clear if he went to a hospital. He later said that the bee is “hard at work making a hive down there.” “That buffoon is still buzzing,” he said as the news conference ended.
