TAMMY ABRAHAM ON THE MAN UTD RADAR

Manchester United are reportedly considering a move for Roma striker Tammy Abraham this summer. Doubts continue over Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at Old Trafford and now reports say PSG are chasing Marcus Rashford – news that will no doubt come as a shock to Erik ten Hag and the club. talkSPORT pundits Ally McCoist and Simon Jordan claim it makes sense for United to try to sign the England striker. The 24-year-old scored 27 goals and added five assists in all competitions for Roma last season as they won the Europa Conference League. The problem for United is that Chelsea have a £68m buyout option on the player they sold for £34m last summer. Jordan said: “Both Chelsea and Manchester United need centre-forwards, Abraham has scored 17 or 18 goals. [in Serie A] for Roma last year, not sure why they aren’t in the discussion for Manchester United or Chelsea. “With United, the discussion starts with a transfer policy. What happens with Manchester City is that they buy the best players and make them better with the manager they have. That’s United’s job.

Mourinho is unlikely to approve Abraham’s departure

At this stage, it is unclear whether Mourinho will even approve Abraham’s departure, given what he is trying to build at Roma. The likes of Chelsea and Tottenham are also chasing striker Nicolos Zaniolo. To that end, there is no way Mourinho will want to lose his two main attacking options this summer. For United, much now depends on how the futures of Ronaldo and Rashford play out ahead of September 1.

FOREST MAKE EMMANUEL DENNIS OFFER

Nottingham Forest have reportedly rekindled their interest in Watford striker Emmanuel Dennis but face competition from Brighton for Villarreal left-back Pervis Estupinan. The newly promoted Premier League side have already spent over £85m on new players this summer. However, Steve Copper still wants to strengthen his team further. Forest have identified both Denis and Estupinan as potential targets they would like to sign before the window closes on September 1. A report from The Athletic claims the City Ground outfit have tabled an initial bid of £20m for Dennis. This figure also includes any possible add-ons. However, Watford are believed to be holding out for more than £25m for one of their top players. Dennis scored 10 Premier League goals for the Hornets last season despite their relegation. He can also play outside or through the middle. Forest may face a fight to land their man, however, with Everton and Villarreal also interested in the 24-year-old. As for Estopinan, the attacking full-back has also been linked with Tottenham.

MAN CITY CONSIDER KIERAN TIERNEY OFFER

Manchester City are reportedly still considering options for a left-back despite agreeing a fee with Anderlecht for Sergio Gomes. The former Barcelona academy product is closing in on an £11m move to The Etihad. However, reports on Friday suggested another left-back could join Gomes in Manchester. Atletico Madrid’s Brazilian star Renan Lodi is one star linked. But City could be ready to raid Arsenal for Scotland international Kieran Tierney. Pep Guardiola spent most of the start of the summer chasing Marc Cucurella. However, the Brighton man eventually ended up at Chelsea in a £55m deal. That has forced the City boss to look at other targets and Tierney could be a genuine option. Arsenal signed Oleksandr Zinchenko from the Etihad this summer. And it was the Ukrainian who got Tierney the nod in the season-opening win at Crystal Palace. At this stage, it is unclear whether the Gunners are ready to make a move for Tierney. However, with right-back Joao Cancelo asked to fill in at left-back for City at West Ham again, it seems Pep is determined to strengthen the position before the window closes on September 1.
